Undergraduate Teaching and Training Model
Moral cultivation and the integration of general and specialized education
The Daqing Spirit (Iron Man Spirit) is carried through the entire cultivation process, with the school ethos, academic ethos and motto nurturing a commitment to strengthening the nation through energy. Guided by 2 national "Double First-Class" disciplines, the University strengthens general foundations while deepening specialized study, and embeds intelligent and green concepts into the curriculum through interdisciplinary directions such as carbon neutrality and artificial intelligence for oil and gas. It hosts 21 national first-class undergraduate program development sites; among full-time faculty at the Beijing campus, 68% hold senior professional titles and 85% hold doctoral degrees, with national-level high-caliber talent accounting for 12.4% of the total. The University is home to 3 "Huang Danian-style" teaching teams and 3 national-level teaching teams.
Industry-education integration and the unity of knowledge and practice
The University has 5 national engineering practice education centers and 3 national industry-education integration demonstration bases, and has built industry-education integration communities with leading energy enterprises. Discipline competitions spearheaded by the China Petroleum Engineering Design Competition promote learning and innovation through competition. The integrated bachelor's-to-PhD model and the National College of Excellent Engineers provide long-term pathways spanning undergraduate and graduate study and linking campus with enterprise, while the Beijing and Karamay campuses share resources, offering a practice stage close to the industry frontline.
